All the must-have watches from Longines’ 2021 Novelties collection

With strong influences from the past and an array of colourways, Longines’ 2021 novelties lineup has a little something for everyone.

Besides classics like the HydroConquest and La Grande Classique, the Aviation BigEye, DolceVita, and Silver Arrow also see new interpretations across the board. Take a look at the most coveted watches from this collection.

Inspired by the world of diving and water sports, the emblematic HydroConquest line is getting some colour upgrades thanks to the addition of rose and yellow PVD variations.

The green, blue, and black variations of the watch are now available in two-tone steel and yellow PVD, while the grey, black, and blue ones are available in steel and rose PVD versions. You also have the option to swap out the steel straps for rubber straps in black, blue, or green. The hands, laden with Super LumiNova, give you the ability to become active at night without losing track of your time.

Colour options aside, the watch is equipped with an exclusive self-winding movement that features an anti-magnetic silicon balance-spring to guarantee high precision and a longer lifespan. For those who don’t like to wind their watches too often, you’ll also get a power reserve of up to 72 hours.

La Grande Classique de Longines

A favourite since 1992, La Grande Classique de Longines is designed for both men and women who are looking for a slim watch that looks incredible on any wrist. Despite evolving through the years, this iconic model revisits original features such as the patented unique case construction which also doubles as the bracelet’s lugs.

Besides the versatility, it comes in a wide range of options: set with diamonds or made of rose or yellow PVD; dials in white mother-of-pearl or black, blue, or brown, or gold with sunray, lacquer, or flinqué. The watch face can be decked out in Roman numerals, diamonds, or painted indices, and the entire range is powered by either Quartz or automatic movements depending on

You can also choose between roman numerals, diamonds, or painted indices for the watch face. The range’s Quartz-powered models come in 5 different sizes whereas the mechanical self-winding movement-powered ones come in 2 size options.

DolceVita 2021

If a watch aptly named ‘the sweet life’ finds its way onto your wrist, it’s guaranteed to be a timeless classic. With its rectangular case, this 1920s-inspired model has never lost its sense of identity since its launch in 1997. This year’s interpretations of the DolceVita model are all about Art Deco elements: silver tones, Arabic numerals, long, fine hands, and crosshairs at the center of the dial. The interchangeable straps come in new leather variations in blue, white, and golden hues, offering customers a truly personalised timepiece.

Avigation BigEye

Chronographs may be synonymous with pilot watches, but Longines has long been associated with conquering the skies. Combine the two and naturally, you will get an iconic pilot watch that has been uniquely interpreted for this season. The Avigation BigEye comes in a 41-mm titanium case and petrol blue dial, paying homage to the greatest aviation moments in history. In addition to the silicon balance-spring added to enhance accuracy and resistance to to magnetic fields, the watch eagerly proves its reliability with a 5-year warranty.

Ease of reading is another important factor in this watch, which is the perfect companion for any pilot. It packs a few punches with sand-blasted black hands, Super LumiNova-coated Arabic numerals, and an oversized 30-minute counter at 3-o’clock.

Silver Arrow

The model that defined the age of racecars and supersonic planes of the 1950s is back with its distinctive silhouette. Encased in a 38.5 mm steel case, the Silver Arrow is all about durability and withstanding wear and tear. Like the AviationBigEye, it comes with a 5-year warranty, giving those with an adventurous streak some peace of mind for their favourite timepiece.

Like the original Silver Arrow, this new edition pays homage to its predecessor with striated indexes. You’ll also find the famed “Silver Arrow” emblem of a supersonic plane engraved on the case back, a signifier for Longines’ ability to connect with the world of aeronautics and its pioneers.

Legend Diver Watch

As more watch brands begin to tap into the lifestyle sector, Longines also makes this move by introducing new colour variations to its heritage Legend Diver Watch. This watch has been reissued as part of an “immersion in heritage” effort, seeing the 2007-issued Legend Diver revived, this time in blue and brown editions.

Fitting for a diver watch, the blue or brown-shaded dials features luminous hands, hour markets interspersed with luminescent squares , and Arab numerals in Super LumiNova for enhanced visibility. They are powered by Longines’ in-house automatic movement and offer up to 300 metres of water resistance.

Though the Legend Diver watch preserves the spirit and pure lines of the original timepiece, it features the most up-to-date technical specs such as a box-shaped sapphire glass with two screw-in crowns and a screw-down case back. An embossed emblem of a diver is the finishing touch on the watches’ 42mm case back, accompanied by a blue or brown leather strap that matches the dial colour. In keeping with Longines’ other active watch collections, the Legend Diver also comes with a 5-year warranty.
