La sera di venerdì 26 luglio 1996 c’era una piacevole brezza ad Atlanta, in Georgia (Stati Uniti), che dava tregua alle migliaia di persone arrivate in città da tutto il mondo per assistere alle Olimpiadi, dopo il gran caldo che aveva fatto i giorni precedenti. Molti ne approfittarono per andare al grande Centennial Olympic Park, costruito apposta per i Giochi, dove c’era un concerto gratuito del gruppo R&B Jack Mack and the Heart Attack. Al concerto c’era anche un uomo di 29 anni originario della North Carolina, Eric Robert Rudolph, che portava un grosso zaino sulle spalle....
