What to wear this Songkran 2021

Lisa Gries

Creative Content Director, Bangkok

Have you made plans this Songkran? Have you made plans for what to wear to your plans this Songkran?

Though not openly advertised so, Songkran is actually one of the most fashionable events of the year. It’s a time where we get to flaunt bold colours (and floral shirts) with no shame, it’s when we get to wear relaxed fits or crazy cuts, and it’s a time where many of us embrace the new year by buying new clothes. In contrary to the Christmas holiday season, there’s no serious colour palette or material prerequisite (we’re glad sequins and velvet are over), so it’s actually one of the best weeks of the year to have a lot of fun with fashion.

Beach getaway, staycation, or just napping with your dog — here’s what to wear for whatever you get up to this Songkran. Happy Thai New Year. It looks good on you.
