The best festive brunches in London

the-best-festive-brunches-in-london

It’s no secret that weekend brunch is a city-wide ritual for Londoners. Every Saturday, thousands flock to their closest coffee corner for a dose of avocado on sourdough and a pint-sized oat milk latte. Come Sunday, the order of the day is buttermilk pancakes and orange juice, often ordered in an attempt to stave off the ill effects of the night before.

While brunch comes in many forms, it — like everything in the world of food — is spruced up for the festive season. If every evening of your December diary is already filled, opt for a breakfast date with friends instead, and celebrate the season with delicious food while having a good catch-up. Here are some of our festive favourites.

The Folly, City of London

The Folly West End Drag Brunch

Sashay your way down to The Folly for its West End Drag Brunch where you’ll be treated to an abundance of sequins, feathers and incredible vocals. On 4, 11 and 18 December, enjoy a seasonally-inspired drag show featuring an exclusive lineup of talented West End stage performers while tucking into a two-course menu. Priced at £39.95 per person, kick off the event with a sharing platter of vegan mezze or charcuterie, before choosing from malted waffles, eggs benedict or royale, and a range of burgers. You’ll receive a welcome drink upon arrival but we reckon it’s worth upgrading to bottomless tipples for an extra £25 per person.

Korean Dinner Party, Soho

Korean Dinner Party

If you’re usually fed up with pigs in blankets and roast potatoes by mid-December, head to Korean Dinner Party, inspired by LA’s Koreatown, for playful festive fusion cuisine in the heart of Soho. The menu, priced from £39 per person, includes bottomless festive fizz topped up with South Korean Jinro Soju — a triple-filtered spirit made with rice, barley and tapioca. Take your pick from dishes including kimchi fried rice, fried chicken nuggets, pork neck al pastor and slow-cooked beef short rib taco. The restaurant’s bottomless brunch, normally reserved for weekends, will also be served on Boxing Day, 27 December, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
