The inaugural voyage of the custom explorer, initially tested in Antalya, Turkey, in January, has recently commenced in the Mediterranean. Named Pink Shadow, this ice-class cruiser is part of the SeaXplorer line from the Dutch shipyard, marking the third vessel of its kind but uniquely measuring 190 feet (58 meters) in length. Notably, it’s the pioneer SeaXplorer model constructed in Turkey.
Developed in collaboration with Azure Yacht Design, Naval Architecture, and EYOS Expeditions, the ship features a green steel hull, a lightweight aluminum superstructure, sleek black glazing, and synthetic teak decking.
Design Unlimited contributed to the yacht’s interiors, which encompass six luxurious suites accommodating up to 12 guests, along with cabins for 15 crew members and two expedition staff. The vessel includes a scenic sky lounge and dining area on the bridge deck, as well as the distinctive observation lounge at the bow. Outdoor spaces comprise an aft deck with a helipad, a Jacuzzi on the bridge deck, and a large infinity pool on the lower deck.
Performance-wise, Pink Shadow can achieve a maximum speed of 14.5 knots and cover 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11.5 knots. With a remarkable 30 days of sea autonomy, the yacht facilitates extended remote journeys.
In terms of recreational amenities, the yacht is fully equipped with an array of toys, such as a custom 37-foot sailboat, two tenders, motorcycles, and versatile vehicles suitable for both on-road and off-road excursions.
Excitingly, the SeaXplorer 58 will soon be joined by a slightly larger successor. Damen is presently dedicated to crafting the inaugural SeaXplorer 60, slated for delivery in spring 2024. Anticipation builds for these sea exploration marvels.
