What comes to mind when you think of London’s members’ clubs? A network of ‘good old boys’ whiling away the house reading the paper and swilling Scotch from the comfort of their wingback armchairs?
It’s hardly surprising. For decades, centuries even, you would have been right – and there are certainly plenty of dark-wood-and-leather joints still in existence. But, over the last few years, the capital’s members’ club landscape has been changing thanks, in no small part, to AllBright Mayfair.
Founded in 2018 in a gorgeous five-storey townhouse on Maddox Street, it made waves as the city’s first private members’ club exclusively for women. Created on a mission to bring like-minded women together to connect, collaborate and socialise in a relaxed, welcoming environment, in the past five years it has grown to become one of London’s pre-eminent destinations for business, education and having a really good time.
Inside the club, you’ll find a chic all-day restaurant and two intimate roof terraces ideal for everything from morning meetings over eggs florentine, grabbing a salad during a working lunch, or unwinding with friends over classic cocktails and vibrant Mediterranean-inspired fare in the evening.
The restaurant has also recently announced a partnership with Delle Vite, the prosecco brand founded by the Delevingne sisters. As part of the collaboration, AllBright will be offering a sparkling new brunch menu every Saturday throughout spring 2023. Dishes, including a classic array of eggs, as well as tuna tartare, crab roll, cobb salad, and grilled tiger prawns, will be offered alongside Della Vite Prosecco Superiore DOCG and Della Vite Prosecco D.O.C. Rosé Millesimato 2021 by the glass or bottle. As a final flourish, everything will be accompanied by whimsical glassware and linen by female-founded interiors brand Anna + Nina. Book your table here.
There’s also an onsite hair salon offering a full range of wash, cut, colour and blow dry treatments (perfect for a quick refresh before a big event) while the space is adorned throughout with a dazzling array of works by female artists, creating an uplifting and inspiring environment.
Beyond its amenities, one of the biggest draws of the AllBright is its extensive programme of events. Boasting a community of nearly 500,000 women, the club hosts more than 200 learning courses and 340 events both in-person and online per year, offering members access to insights from women at the top of their fields, as well as the opportunity to level up their professional skills and discover new passions and interests.
Recent highlights have included an audience with Emily Maitlis, a masterclass on negotiating for pay rises and promotions, and tips from Female Invest co-founder Anna-Sophie Hartvigsen on how to create your own investment portfolio. In the evenings, the club comes alive with more relaxed social events, including live music sessions.
