Williamsburg, Brooklyn

A neighborhood known for it’s thriving culture and laid-back lifestyle. Lots of boutique shopping, amazing cafes and restaurants reside on the streets filled with modern graffiti artwork. It’s an area best enjoyed with an open mind and spirit, because you never know what you’ll come across. Walking down Wythe Avenue where the block meets N 10th Street is an 8-story brick building that houses The Williamsburg Hotel. This eponymous property may have an understated look, but just wait until you step inside…

Entering at the ground level a doorman is there to greet guests and visitors. Both an elevator and spiral staircase are available to take you down to the lower level, where the guest check-in desk is along with the hotel’s bar and restaurant, Harvey. Looking into the space, a double-level floorplan opens up to an expansive ceiling height with artful focal points like the bar’s multicolor fixture above and the restaurant’s magical hanging lights. With it’s cool, inspiring vibe, the atmosphere lends itself to creative thinking and good times. Even within the first few moments, the hotel perfectly embodies the neighborhood it lives in.

Accommodations

Housing 147 rooms ranging from a studio to a skyline suite, you can pick your preference depending on your tastes and space required. Each room is finished with eclectic furnishings – like the plush velvet sofa, herringbone wood floors, ceramic tiled bathrooms, and tufted leather headboard. Brass accents are featured on much of the rooms hardware from lamps to dresser handles and the bathroom fixtures. The somewhat edgy style is contrasted well with double panel floor to ceiling windows and sliding balcony doors. We had the pleasure of staying in the hotel’s Skyline suite that was anything but ordinary. This style room extends from the North to the South side of the hotel providing complete 180-degree views of Brooklyn and New York City. With a direct view of the Manhattan skyline, you can be inspired from by the city landscape from dawn to dusk, when the lights glisten across the East River.

Room Service

One of our favorite parts of being at a hotel is the luxury of ordering room service. The Williamsburg Hotel serves the restaurant Harvey’s menu directly to your door. Breakfast in bed anyone? Two of our favorite dishes were served spectacularly with a unique blend of flavor. Take the Brooklyn Bread Lab Bagel for example – topped with lox, jalapeno cream cheese, alfalfa sprouts, heirloom tomato, onion, and avocado. It’s a mouthful of fresh irresistible food that will satisfy your breakfast delight. Another favorite breakfast dish was the House-made Granola Bowl, including seasons fruit, raw honey, oats, chia seeds, and yogurt. Lifestyle

Aside from all that the hotel’s dining and accommodations have to offer, there is also a not-so-secret rooftop experience to be enjoyed at the property.  During the Spring and Summer period, the hotel’s rooftop pool opens up with weekly events and DJ gigs. The incredible view of New York City from the rooftop mirrors that which can be seen from the Skyline Suite, but with an open-air feel. Guests can also make use of the in-house complementary cruisers to explore the local neighborhood and all that Brooklyn has to offer.
