“Following the launch of our new e-commerce website, we kept receiving requests for advice on what sort of socks to wear with our shoes.” For the answer, James Fox, brand director at fabled Northampton-based shoemaker, Crockett & Jones, needed only look in his own sock drawer. “I’ve been wearing pairs from the London Sock Company for years.” Cue a collaboration between the 143-year-old shoe specialist and the leading name in luxury socks.

The partnership has seen the two companies come together, consider the types of footwear within the Crockett & Jones collection, and reflect on the sort of socks that would best complement each style and occasion. The result is a collection of socks that spans from the block-coloured to the boldly-patterned, and from the lightweight to the heavyweight.
For smart looks, the collaboration’s Simply Sartorial collection features 10 colourways crafted from the finest Scottish Lisle cotton. Soft, durable and breathable, the block-colour socks boast an elegant rib and match perfectly with Crockett & Jones’s monk-strap derbies and elegant Oxfords. For something a little more athletic, elevate your game with the ‘Spot of Style’ collection. Made from the same lightweight, comfortable cotton, these polka-dot pairs were designed by London College of Fashion student Martina Milana.

From the city to the countryside, the collaboration’s Boot Socks have, as the name suggests, been designed with Crockett & Jones’s range of hardwearing, Goodyear-welted boots in mind. They’re crafted from a heavier-weight organic cotton, so as to be thicker and more durable. The Boot Socks, available in six colours, feature a chunky rib as well as anti-bacterial and anti-odour properties. Elsewhere, the Herringbone range is available in burgundy and teal, a perfect match for suede loafers; while the Houndstooth collection fuses a historic check pattern with forward-looking colours.
