Over the past 10 years we have had the delight of welcoming guests from around the world to stay in our quintessentially English village of Bray on Thames. Many of whom have become great friends, returning again and again.

There are several more to choose from if you want to travel further afield, which include Roux at Skindles, the fine dining room at Cliveden House, Tom Kerridges’ The Hand & Flowers, The Coach or for something more exotic, Atul Kutcher’s Sindhu & The Ivy are nearby in Marlow.

RESTAURANTS

We are so lucky to have some of the most incredible restaurants in England located on our door step, including two of the five – three Michelin starred ones. All located within a 3-5 minute walk from the cottages here in Bray.

The Fat Duck

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The Fat Duck is a foodie’s dream for many guests who travel from all around the world. Best known for its 14 courses and stunning wine pairings. Not only do you get a fantastic dining experience, but we like to call it theatre too.

The Waterside Inn

Located on the water’s edge, this magical property is owned by the famous Roux family. Offering both an a la carte and fixed price menu, this really is the “Jewel in the Crown” providing a perfect romantic setting. The little boat can also be hired for pre and post drinks. Menus range from: £80.00 per person.

The Hinds Head

Heston’s famed, 1 Michelin starred restaurant – it has a wonderful bar on the first floor, called “the Hunting Lodge’ serving fabulous cocktails. A great place to dine with lunch menus ranging from £29.50 per person. The focus tends to be on classic British dishes.

The Crown at Bray

A truly picturesque 14th century old English Pub. Low beams, flagstone floors and some great local beers on tap. A varied casual menu ranging from burgers, to steaks, to scrummy fish and chips. Not forgetting the outdoor b-b-que’s, served in the gardens, during the summer months.

Caldesi in Campagna

A family owned Italian restaurant at its best. Caldesi serves fresh fish, pasta and other lovely dishes, with a set two course lunch menu ranging from £25.00 per head. There is also a beautiful terrace area outside where you can enjoy long lunches or romantic evenings during the summer months.

Monkey Island Estate

Approximately a 10 minutes’ walk away, this picturesque private island has a great restaurant, located on the water’s edge. A wide range of dishes to choose from and a lovely bar to enjoy some delectable wines and cocktails.

In addition to our lovely restaurants and for guests enjoying a longer stay, we can also provide mouth-watering offerings of Artisanal cheese, charcuterie and freshly baked breads.

We have a limited selection of fine wines and champagnes, including the award winning Nyetimber English Sparkling Wine available, so please do ask if you wish to pre order anything for your arrival.

If you are celebrating an engagement, a wedding anniversary or a special birthday please do not hesitate to talk to us about some very unique ideas. We have a lot of experience in making special occasions truly memorable.

Special Gifts

Our sister company, Bray Culinary Village, offers a variety of little gifts that can be purchased in memory of your visit to Bray. These include our own 250 grams of carefully selected single origin coffee, hand drawn maps, signed cookery books, chocolates and some exciting new dishware – coming soon.

Gift certificates

Our new certificates can be sent by email or in the post. They make wonderful presents for loved ones, ‘foodie friends” and family. You can pay for a stay or select a voucher in denominations of £100

Flower supplier

We work closely with a selection of artistic local florists. They each have their own style, so please talk to us about any specific requests that you may have and we can arrange the perfect bouquets.

William Curley artisan chocolates

Allow us to introduce you to this incredible Chocolatier – William Curley, who uses only the finest ingredients when creating his ‘master pieces” You will find just a little taste of these next to your bed when you stay with us, but they are also available to purchase as a gift to take home.

Spa treatments

For those wishing to indulge in some pampering times we can arrange for a variety of spa treatments including massage, facials and experiences. Some of these can be taken within the cottage or close by.

Limo service

Our preferred supplier is CIA Chauffeuring who provide a professional and affordable transportation service across the UK. Like Bray Cottages, they pride themselves in providing the highest level of customer service from the initial enquiry until your final destination.

The drivers are polite, extremely knowledgeable and always punctual. Sit back, relax and travel in comfort and style.

Many of our guests use this service for airport transfers, day trips out of Bray or departures from their stay to wonderful places like London. They can also organise VIP trips to Bicester Village shopping outlet.

Boating

We are proud to work alongside a local family business owned by our good friend ‘Captain’ Steve Harris and his son Will. They run a fleet of five luxury river cruisers based in various locations on the Thames, all of which are close by. They can accommodate from 2-12 guests on each boat and needless to say we can arrange for transport to get you to the pick-up points and bring you home.

Most of our guests charter the boats for 2 hours and often, we will prepare delicious picnics which can be enjoyed whilst taking in the beautiful scenery. 2 hour trips range from £285.00 on Larus, up to £360.00 for Dragon Fly.

Bike Hire

We have a selection of bikes available to hire during your stay. In particular our new E-bikes are fantastic fun. The Mate X is the world’s coolest foldable electric bike. They are truly comfortable and have a 75 mile range with top speeds of 30 kilometres per hour. Simply known as the Tesla of electric bikes – helmets provided.

Horse Riding

Our local Stables: Wayside Stables is a family run BHS approved Riding School based in the heart of the Berkshire countryside, just a 15 minutes’ drive away. They cater for all abilities from novice to the most experienced riders and are a firm favourite with our guests. Enjoy riding in Windsor Great Park, the Queen’s back garden, one of the other many trails.

Hiking

There are so many wonderful walks to choose from – for the seriously t, then the walk from Bray to Windsor along the banks of the River Thames is just so picturesque. Otherwise, closer to home you have Dorney Lake, home to the Olympic Rowing team; Bray Lake with the opportunity to perhaps participate later in some of the water sports, or simply take in the natural beauty of Bray Nature reserve, which is about a 10 minute walk from Bray.

During the autumn of 2020 we will see the opening of the new Braywick Leisure centre offering some of the best facilities in a UK – with a 10 lane swimming pool, state of the art gym and sports hall.
